Plywood is a material manufactured from thin layers or "plies". These plies are glued together with adjacent layers of plies rotated 90 degrees to one another. It is engineered from a family of manufactured boards which include medium-density fibreboard (MDF), oriented strand board (OSB) and particle board (chipboard).
All plies are bound together with resin and wood fibre sheets to form a composite material. This alternation of the grain is called cross-graining and has several important benefits: it reduces the tendency of wood to split when nailed at the edges; it reduces expansion and shrinkage, providing improved dimensional stability; and it makes the strength of the panel consistent across all directions. There is usually an odd number of plies, so that the sheet is balanced to reduce warping. Because plywood is bonded with grain running against one another this creates a sturdy yet durable material.
Birch Plywood
Birch plywood is a superior quality hardwood plywood made up of multiple veneers to increase its structural stability while offering a high quality smooth finish. Because of this, birch plywood has excellent physical and mechanical properties with a light coloured appearance.

Our full range of panel processing capabilities enables us cut your panels to shape, be precision drilled, finely sanded and lacquered or laminated in the colour of your choice.
We can spray birch plywood in any colour with a clear lacquered end edges if desired.
